I just read your message to me on my dad's page and your words are so kind. You have been there for me for the past few month with all that I am going through. Your words of wisdom touch me more then you know. Just when I think I cant go on, you say something and make me a fight harder. I always turned to you and you never turened me away, you are always there for me.The support of you and your parents is truly amazing and helps more then you know. You are a great person and I know that Chris is so proud of you. Your kids are beautiful and they are so respectful and just fun loving kids. You are a great mother and you should be proud of yourself. I am glad that we are getting closer. I will always be there for you. I hope you know that.
Chris,
I did not know you but I have learned so much about you. You were a great husband, father and Trooper. Be proud of Lisa. She is doing her best and she is going a great job, but you know that already. Your children are beautiful. Keep my Dad company up there and we will all meet in time

I so know when I look over my shoulder, you are giving me your nod of approval. I hope your proud of how I am raising our children, they turned out to be fine young adults.

The Badge"

He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.

He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.

Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.

He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.

His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.

He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.

And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.

But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.

Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.

Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.

So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.

In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.

Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

You have been gone now 5 years. I have only left one
reflection for you in that time, but I still remember your
face. So I know that those who knew and loved you have not forgotten you either. May your loved ones look
to Jesus Christ who is the only one who can replace
their emptiness with His love. God bless them at this
special time of year when He sent His only Son to earth
to reconcile us to Himself. Merry Christmas!

Lisa and Family,
Not a day goes by that something does not remind me of what happened 5 years ago. Forever in my mind is etched every moment that myself and co-workers spent on scene. I just want you to know that everyday I pray that you have strength to get through this. I grieve on this day, like i have many before and i want you to know that this day will never be forgotten, just like the memory of Chris will never be forgotten. I plan on keeping his memory alive just like your family and Chris's co-workers have done such an amazing job doing so. Always know that i am here if you ever need anything.

On the anniversary of your death we keep you in our thoughts and prayers. We also keep your wife and children close to our hearts. Lisa, I read your reflection today an I sense the tremendous struggle that you are having. Please know and beleive that God has a purpose for all our lives. It is not what we want but what He plans for us. You will be with Chris someday in heaven enjoying everlasting peace. Until then you will be given many crosses to bear and trials that will push you to your limit. Stay strong in family and faith, you will be an "overcomer". You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Chris,

I can't believe its 5 years since you passed, I sit here and wonder where did the time go, it seems like yesterday that this all happened. I miss you so much, that hasn't changed. I know you see down what I go thru with the kids and how they don't listen and how they don't picth in around here, I guess thats how it is when your a kid, I know you and I would have never treated our parents like that.

I hope that this is a phase that passes because of have had it, its hard raising them without you, they need their father. Please send me patience, I am afraid to say that since you passed, I just don't have patience for things anymore, I am tired, mentally and phsically, I wish I could say I sleep well, but since you passed I dont.

Please know that you are Loved and Missed here so much.

Love Always, Lisa
