 | Police Officer John B. Bealefeld Baltimore City Police Department Maryland Monday, September 10, 1945 |
We ask Thy blessings and eternal rest to all our brothers and sisters Who have sacrificed their very lives in the performance of their duties. Give their loved ones the peace and Strength to bear the anguish of their loss. Remove all resentment from their hearts, knowing that eternal peace and rest will abide their departed loved ones forever. This we beg, Thy name forever and ever, Amen.
Ret. Officer William Hackley Baltimore Police 2005-12-07
Officer John Bealefeld was my father Frederick H. Bealefeld's brother. My dad was also a policeman and every child that is raised in a police officer's home is well aware of the dangers faced every time that parent leaves for work.
I remember my Uncle John very well, and what a happy person he was. He and my father were very close and I saw my dad cry for the first time when Uncle John died.
I will always remeber that sad day.
