Pvt. Baucom,
On today, the 74th anniversary of your murder, I would like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of the state of Oregon. I think that the sentence that your murderer received was travesty of justice.

This act of violence may have occurred over 70 years ago but I still think about it. I am only 24 years old but I drive by the location where Private Baucom was killed nearly every day and I always think about how life was when the shooting happened. Back then the area was completely rural, now the area is full of houses with North Valley High School just down the road. The shooting occurred on Highway 99 back in 1933, the highway is now called Monument Drive in memory of Private Baucom and The memorial for Private Baucom is now at the North Bound Manzanta Rest area on the I-5 freeway, about a mile from the incident location. I guess I just want to say that I will never forget.

Burrell you are not forgotten and the injustice done to you and your loved ones by the "system" will be remembered. Other survivors will try and teach the "system" what is fair and just. Rest in peace and thank you for the service you provided to the citizens of Oregon.

You did not die in vain - you are a hero to so very many of us. Thank you for your service and your sacrifice, and please continue to welcome the many more heroes who continue to join you. I take comfort in knowing that so many dedicated officers are watching us from above.

Rest in peace. Your killer will see justice, one way or another.

So sad that your killer only served such a short time after you served your life! Thank you for serving America and all you and your family sacrificed.

Romans 13:4 says you were a minister of God. Rest in Peace!

Why is "life" never life,

Sir,

Your life is worth much more than the 13 years your killer recieved. I cry when I think about these stupid sentences killers get.

I want to Thank you for giving
