Your heroism and service is honored today, the ninth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was murdered on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer. Phyllis Loya I did not know Trooper Foss, but I knew his wife and knew of him from my time attending college in the community in which they lived. I had been an officer for less than a year when Trooper Foss died. I attended his funeral which had a tremendous impact on the officer that I have become. I think of Trooper Foss often even though more than seven years has passed. His sacrifice serves as a constant reminder to work safe and train new officers to work safe as well. The "move-over" law that was created as a result of this tragedy and bears his name will and has undoubtedly saved lives. Thank you for your service Trooper Foss. You will never be forgotten. Patrol Officer David Doppelhammer RIP.You will never be forgotten by all those that knew you and loved you.May you live forever in their hearts and memories. Anonymous God bless, a true American Hero!!! Trooper I stopped today (4-13-08) at the rest area in Minnesota off I-90 where Officer Foss is remembered. I noticed the memorial to officer Foss and was curious about the details. I went online and read about him. Thank you for the sacrifice and for being willing to serve in such a dangerous occupation. Police officers like Theodore Foss have my utmost respect! My prayers are especially for his children and wife who will not have him on earth, but will always be greatly honored and proud of the way Officer Foss carried himself. God Bless...
"The Badge" Investigator David L Bell Thank you for your service. I am honored to leave a reflection for you. Deputy Ted, you are sorely missed by a huge extended family, your mom, sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins. Whenever I see a vehicle on the side of the road and move over I am always reminded of you and the impact you have had on so many, many lives. I think of when you were little and we called you "Teddy Joe", playing on the farm in Kenyon, swimming at the pool, staying in the tent. Those memories will never go. Ranger Paul Bardal Ted is a cousin of mine. I didn't know him well, we have a large family. But I did see him the week before he died at my Great Grandmothers funeral. It was a huge shock to get the phone call the next week by my grandma telling me that he had been killed. It was hard on the family. And I was able to go to the funeral to support my mom and grandma. It was the most amazing thing I have ever been a part of. Kayla Holthe You are in our thoughts and prayers. Trooper Ted you are in my thoughts daily. I have the fondest of thoughts from my time I have spent with you over the years. From the first time we met in Alexandria, then Rookie School, to the last time at a golf course where you were so proud of your children you had to show me their pictures and we talked about each others kids and how life was so good. You had your priorites straight. I miss you and you are not forgotten. I think of you daily GOD bless. Some day we will continue our conversation, until then bless you and we all miss you. Trooper Ted was one of my brother's best friends. I'll never forget watching the news about the accident on TV and calling my brother to see if he was safe. He then told me Ted was killed. I just couldn't believe it. Ted used to come and visit our family when my brother and he went to college. We think of Ted's family often and they will always be in our prayers.
