On the 10th anniversary of Trooper Hardy's death, we honored his service in our patrol briefing by reading his entry from ODMP. Each day, we honor one fallen officer on the anniversary of their death so as to keep them in our thoughts, and also to remind us of the dangers inherent in our job. Trooper Hardy is not forgotten. Sergeant Zach Perron Cousin Frederick. As I sit here in my home in Atlanta, GA, my mind takes me back to this day, ten years ago. The night that I received the phone call, that I had lost one of my favorite cousins, who was more like a brother to me. I started wondering, "what am I going to do?" A part of me is gone and I won't be able to see him on this side anymore. Cuz, I am soooo glad that we both found Christ before it was to late, so I know that I will see you again. Continue to watch over me and my family and hey if you don't mind, tell my dad, your Uncle Joe, that I said hello. I know that you all are having a Joyous time there in heaven. May God continue to bless your Soul until we meet again on that grand day. I love you and miss you everyday. SSG (R) Felecia Hardy-Wright Trooper Hardy served proudly and was deeply loved and respected by those who knew him. It is a tragedy to lose him. We never know when our lives on this earth will end, but we can make a reservation in Heaven now and assure us a place when God calls us to Himself. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14:6) and He PAID the price for our sins on the Cross so we don't have to pay the penalty for our sins. Yipee! If we accept His payment by faith we can have salvation and spend eternity with Him in Heaven. It is not something we must earn, it is a gift. The most precious one we can ever receive. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith_and this not from yourselves, it is the GIFT of God_not by good deeds, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2: 8,9. For without faith, it is impossible to please God. And our faith must be in God's only Son, Jesus Christ. Anonymous "The Badge" Investigator David L Bell My thoughts are with all of your loved ones on this 8th anniversary of your being called away. Bob Gordon On the eight year anniversary of your passing, you are remembered and a special prayer goes out to your family. Craig Figgins You are remembered today and thank you Sir for your service Pat Van Den Berghe, Manchester, NH Such a senseless tragedy. My deepest sympathies extended to your family and your brothers. To all who knew Tpr. Hardy - he did not die in vain. God bless the bulls! Lieutenant To the family and friends of Trooper Frederick Hardy and his fellow officers, and most especially to Trooper Hardy himself:
It is hard to believe sometimes that human beings have dominion over any other of Father's creation...they can be so unbelievably calloused at times...but, thankfully we all reap what we sow.....
Fred, Deputy Phil Abdoo Rest easy Blue Angel Andy Fred is my cousin and lives on in my heart. As a child we were more like brothers and sisters all living in one house on Concord street in Detroit. He used to lick soap when he was angry and we would all run from him as if it gave him super powers. I wish it did. Every year at this time which is also close to his birthday, I think more of the good times we had as children. His life is an example for me as I too joined the Armed Forces and am now working with Military Police. He was a wonderful human being who I owe much too. I miss you Frederick. We were 8 kids in that one house together and one day we will be together again. Mr. Daniel C. Yelder Jr. Rest in peace troop. While your watch is over, ours continues. Senior Trooper I remember hearing the news flash that a MSP Trooper had been hit and killed by a hit and run driver. Special Agent Darin L. Paul Obviously we lost a fine Trooper. Rest in peace. Inv. Michael Walker I was working the same shift as Fred on the night of his death and when I heard his partner outside on prep calling for priority I knew something bad had happened. That is a day that I will never forget. Fred was more than a co-worker to all of his fellow Troops at the Detroit Post. He was a mentor, friend and guardian. He had a quiet humbleness that is not seen to often in our profession. Fred was a family man who was very devoted to God and his family. I had the pleasure of working with this great man on quite a few occassions and it was such a learning experience every time. He was very fair with everyone he encountered on the job, but he knew when it was time to take care of business. I remember my first week at the Detroit Post, I was trained by Fred. As I sat in that patrol car in the middle of summer and saw Fred dealing with four different accidents at the same time, I thought there is no way Im ever going to be able to work down here. But I learned just like we all do. "Freddy Bear" there is not one day that goes by that I dont think about you and I know I will see you again someday. Until then be my guardian and watch over my family, mainly, and through a little something my way from time to time. Trooper William Priest Trooper Hardy, Anonymous I had the honor and pleasure to work with Tpr. Hardy. He brought to this world a hard working, fun loving attitude that rubbed off on all those around him Fred was a man who treated everyone he met with respect. His departure came well before his time should have been up. I know that Fred is in Heaven looking down on all of us at the Post, smiling and watching over us. We miss you Fred. Tpr Dilg I know you are resting in the arms of God Mr Hardy. Anonymous Our thoughts and prayers go out to Trooper Hardy's family and fellow Michigan State Police Troopers.
