On November 1, 1999 Goelet A. Buef demonstrated the ultimate sacrifice, he gave himself! During his struggle he fought to stand by what he promised to commit to the citizens of Phoenix which is public safety. I want to personally thank you, the Beuf family for raising a man with the desire and passion to do what is right, to fight with all his might, and to leave a heroic legacy. James 1:12 states, "Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial for when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him." Please know that his life will always matter and thanks for the years of service, commitment, and dedication. Love the Rivera's, (Michael, Diana, Erica, and Michael Jr.) Lieutenant Michael Rivera #5244 Phoenix P.D. 2009-03-29
It is nearing ten years since you left us in Phoenix to become an elite member of Gods police team in heaven. You are not nor will you ever be forgotten by your brothers and sisters in the badge. In a few weeks we will be dedicating a sign at the site you departed our department. I know you have blessed all our brothers and sisters who are with you in His team and welcome the new arrivals with love and understanding. Your honor, devotion to serving and your integrity stand as models for our new officers coming on board. Until we all meet again in His kingdom, give Jesus a hug. In Christ #456 PPD Tom Bradley, Retired Phoenix AZ PD, AZ State Chap. 2009-03-13

We are still thinking about you. Last night while passing out candy I was remembring the times we went Trick or Treating with the kids.
It still seems like it was yesterday and it's hard to believe it has been 9 years since your EOW. Michael Close Friend 2008-11-01
Officer Beuf,
This past summer, the summer of 2007, I had the fortune to meet your daughter Alessandra. She is the coolest, funniest girl ever. She misses you and will always love you. Amanda Walker Friend of Alessandra 2008-04-17
Rest well, brave warrior, rest well. You have given the ultimate sacrifice.
We never know what awaits us when we patrol the mean streets every day. May your light burn brightly forever. Every day, we remember those in the BROTHERHOOD who paid a price too steep.
So sleep well, brother. Chaplain Larry Doby Fort Lonesome Police Department 2008-03-14
Officer Beuf, thank you for your service and dedication. Neither you, nor your sacrifice, will ever be forgotten.
It is amazing to me that the person that caused your death received a prison sentence of only 4 years - that certainly doesn't seem fair. He should never have seen the light of day again.
Rest in peace. Michelle - wife of Retired LEO

"The Badge" He starts his shift each day To respond to calls unknown. He drives a marked patrol car. A police officer he is known. He's paid by the citizens' taxes To make it safe on the streets. But he usually has a second job 'Cause a waitress has his salary beat. Now he doesn't know a holiday 'Cause he works all year round. And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive At his home he cannot be found. He's cursed and assaulted often, The one whos blood runs blue. He seldom ever gets a thanks, To some he's just a fool. His friends are always other cops 'Cause people just don't understand That underneath his badge and gun, He's just another man. He knows there might not be a tomorrow In this world of drugs and crime. And he gets so mad at the court system 'Cause the crooks don't get any time. And each day when he leaves for work, He prays to God above. Please bring me home after my shift So I can see the ones I love. But tonight he stops a speeding car, He's alone down this ole' highway. It's just a little traffic infraction. He does it everyday. Well, he walks up to the driver's window, And his badge is shining bright. He asked the guy for a driver's license, When a shot rang through the night. Yes, the bullet hit its mark, Striking the officer in the chest. But the Department's budget didn't buy Each officer a bullet-proof vest. So he lay on the ground bleeding. His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red. And briefly he thought of his loved ones 'Cause in a moment the officer was dead. In the news they told the story Of how this officer had died. And some who listened cared less, But those who loved him cried. Well, they buried him in uniform With his badge pinned on his chest. He even had his revolver, He died doing his best.
