Samuel Boswell Wingo is respectfully honored 166 years after his death for his service. Missouri was a tough territory in 1843 and it took a brave man to wear the badge of Sheriff in an attempt to keep peace in his community. His name will not be forgotten. Samuel would be proud to know that other family members also served as law enforcement officers and many others proudly served their country during times of war.
