Being part Cherokee, I would love to hear from anyone who might know if Sheriff Isaac Walkingstick or if John Corntassel (the murder suspect), originally hailed from the Carolinas....

On the anniversary of Sheriff Isaac Walkingstick’s death, we honored his service during roll call by reading his entry from ODMP. Each day, we honor one fallen officer on the anniversary of their death so as to keep them in our thoughts, and also to remind us of the dangers inherent in our job.

Sheriff Walkingstick is gone, but not forgotten.
