Rest in Peace, Sergeant Underwood. Your sacrifice is not forgotten

Officer 11169

2009-10-22

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 156th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never our respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. You were still doing your job to the very end and providing valuable clues so that murderer could be apprehended.

Rest In Peace.

Sgt. Underwood...while our soldiers were overseas fighting a World War...you were here fighting a never-ending local war against the criminals that infest our society. I agree with the visitor below (Gail) in that all of the stories on the ODMP should be read & I visit this site every day to do so. The bio of your death really says alot about you. God bless. Your work is not forgotten.

As I read your memorial, I reflected on how often officer's last minutes are filled with acts of incredible selflessness or an equally incredible determination to do what has to be done right to the very end.

I visit this page daily because your stories should be read as well as told.
