Your heroism and service is honored today, the 101rst anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Capt. Auble - I have probably passed the scene of your death a thousand times, yet not fully known your story beyond the engravings upon our memorials. We carry on, as you would expect us to, in your memory.

We are the LAPD ! We do not leave any Men or Women behind, and we do not forget any LAPD Brother or Sister, who may have fallen in the line – of – duty.

To this day, no higher-ranking LAPD personnel has been murdered, while in the line - of - duty.
