In January of 1951 Sharp county Arkansas Sheriff Guthrie Goodwin & Hardy City Marshal Lloyd Clouse encountered the 4 suspects on Main st.in Hardy Arkansas. During a close quarter struggle one susp. fired his Luger at Goodwin. The shot passed thru his hat brim. The Sheriff then picked up a rock and knocked the susp. unconscious. Sheriff Guthrie and Marshal Clouse effected the arrest of all 4 suspects. They did a good job for you Trooper Tingle.

I agree with the previous writer who wrote “No officer’s death should be without reflection. You served us well......RIP brother.” May the memory of your service and sacrifice remain forever.
