Rest in Peace, Sergeant Arthur. Your sacrifice is not forgotten. Officer 11169 Deputy Arthur, you were my favorite teacher, and I loved your class so much, I took it in junior high and high school. You were always so inspiring to me. I used to love to hear you speak about your cases. I still remember many of them, and have told them to my children. You will always live on in the hearts of all the students you inspired. Joleen Johnson George, time passes but the memories linger on. Your frantic calls for assistance, and your fight for survival. You taught us all to hang tough. At FPK, Lynwood and Temple I always remembered your strong will to survive, your generous welcoming of new men and women into the fold. May God have you in your proper place, as you live on in our memories. RIP Dep "Fat Bobby" Lopez Your heroism and service is honored today, the 24th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer. Anonymous RIP Anonymous George; Son Of LASD SGT Jim Rankins I know the pain felt by your untimely death is fresh for many people people, myself included. May God bless you and reward you eternally for the good work you did on this earth. Jake I still have my copy of that LASD training tape depicting You and Your partner's will to survive when vastly outnumbered / outgunned. When LAPD finally announced what many of us had already suspected, I was hoping to one day hear from his lips why. I received no solace when the FBI announced that they had found his remains. Maj M. B. Parlor LAPD 14 years staying with this crime and solving it, thank you for never giving up. Just like Sergeant's memory, it will never be given up. Pat Van Den Berghe "The Badge" Investigator David L Bell George, my father always spoke highly of you. I met you once when I was a child. I was in boot camp when I heard of your passing. It was a hard day. Son Of LASD SGT Jim Rankins You have not been forgotten. God bless you and your sacrifice. Detective D. Thompson G-d Bless
George, An Old Firestone Deputy my father had worked with you in the jails and spoke very highly of you and all of your contributions to the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department. You are an inspiration. zach You were an outstanding Sgt when I was assaigned to MCJ. You introduced me to the sheriff's dept and gave me advice that I still use 22 years later. I'm thankful for our time together. D. Throckmorton Sgt. Arthur, thank you for your service. Rest in peace. Michelle - wife of Retired LEO Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family, friends and all the members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. We were made safer by his service and we all suffer their tragic loss. The family of Sergeant Arthur in deserves our appreciation and gratitude for their sacrifice. No greater love has a man than the will to give his life for another. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that Sergeant Arthur is a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten. Tom Doyle I want others to know what this MAN did for others outside of law enforcement. George was a "mans man" in the most gentle and caring way. I had the pleasure to be in his high school "student and the law" class. This man was more of an example to me in just one hour a day than any other man in my life. I still am inspired by him almost daily. He was always willing to help with mock interviews and advice on how to get into the law enforcement line of work. I got on with SBSO on my first attempt!!! I always felt George would have been proud. Student, Dennis Fay George, Sgt. Brian Doyle The Sheriff's Department never forgets one of its own. The memories may dim but the names live on. George, the long journey of finding your killer is over. God will take care of the rest.
George:
AS JUNE APPROACHES EACH YEAR, I THINK ABOUT OUR LOSS OF A GREAT COP. I THINK ABOUT THE THOSE WHO HAVE RETIRED FROM THE DEPARTMENT WHO KNEW YOU AND THOSE WHO HAVE PROMOTED SELFISHLY - ONLY TO WONDER HOW FAR YOU WOULD HAVE MADE IT. YOUR LEGACY AND THE "WILL TO SURVIVE" STILL REMAIN A PART OF MY DAILY LIFE. I HOPE THE FISH ARE STILL BITING AND THE WEATHER'S BETTER EVERYDAY. AFTER ALL, YOU DESERVED A BETTER JOURNEY AFTER YOUR 14 YEARS OF WONDERING. KEEP YOUR GRIN FROM EAR TO EAR AND KEEP US SAFE FROM OTHERS EVIL WAYS. LASD We were sworn in on the same day, we worked together, fished together, we were good friends. Through all those years I met and worked with hundreds of individuals, but George was one of the few that stood out. After all these years, I can't imagine why anyone would want to disturb the memory of this cop's cop. He stood head and shoulders above the rest. He was a good man, he had integrity and he was my friend. Retired Deputy Bruce Newman REST IN PEACE GEORGE. YOUR MEMORIES AND THE "TRUE CIRCUMSTANCES" SURROUNDING YOUR UNTIMELY DEATH AND ALL OF THOSE INVOLVED, SURFACE IN THE YEARS TO COME. YOUR FAMILY AND THOSE WHO KNEW YOU BEST TRULY MISS YOU. YOU WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN! Anonymous
