I have heard stories of my great gradfather on my mothers side growing up.I knew that he died on duty ,but I lacked the details.A sad day indeed that these offers gave their lives.Any additional information anyone out there can give me on him would be greatly appreciated.

He was killed the year before I was born, he was my mother's
brother. He served in World war I, and I missed knowing this wonderful man as I was born soon after he was killed. It is so sad to take someone's life away from his family. It was a senseless murder and we still miss him.
