Lieutenant Smith and his family were like family to me. I have tried through the years to get in contact with Pat and his family but have failed. It would be greatful to have them email or call me and my family. Mr. Smith would not have believe that the fat little frekled face little boy across the street would be married now and have 7 children. One boy and six girls.

Our prayers have been with the entire family all the many years later.

Best,

Lieutenant Smith and his family were my closest friends when I was a young boy. His son Pat was my closest and dearest friend for years. We miss Gordon and pray he rest in peace.

We are lucky heroes like you have been around and are still around. Not many understand the sacrifices made for our protection. Though we've never met I am reminded of you daily. I am extremely proud of my namesake.
