 | | | Police Officer Allen F. Shoemaker Chicago and Northwestern Railroad Police Department Railroad Police Sunday, May 17, 1925 |
Officer Shoemaker, today is the 83rd anniversary of your vicious murder. Why this person would murder you is not stated in the text of the Memorial Page, but there is no good reason. We can only hope that this individual face true justice, if not in this life, then in the next.
Railroad Police are in a difficult line of work and face the same risks as any other cop who is out there doing the job. Protecting the vital steel rails that link our nation together and the merchandise and people who use them is tough, but it’s got to be done. Thank you for making the effort and giving your all. I wish you could have gone straight through to retirement.
God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother. Ptl. Jim Leahy, Jr. Harvard University Police Dept. 2008-05-17
We won't let you be forgotten. Rest in peace, my brother. POMFCC 2005-12-07
