Gerry,
It has been 19 years ago today that you have been gone - and you are still greatly missed. Your mother's funeral was today and the Delaware State Police appeared to assist and honor your mother. You would have been so proud! I miss your humor, smile and twinkle in your eye. You will always be rememebered as young, happy and handsome.

Jerry,

I just wanted to let you know that we the 59th have completed our 20 th year. Looking back - man we had a fun times. I miss the hunting and fishing trips so much. We often think of you and Kevin and wish you were still with us. Thinking of you - Love you Brother.

Classmate,
As we approach our 20 year anniversary, we wanted to let you and your family know that you have not been forgotten. As we reminisce of our academy days, you and Kevin are often fondly remembered. The sacrifice that you guys have made has been a constant reminder to all of us of how fragile we really are and how quickly life can be taken away. You guys will never be forgotten. Rest in peace my Brother.

I watched the video of your academy class yesterday. It seems like only yesterday we met, but it's been 17 years since you left us. You may be gone, but you are far from forgotten. Still missing you...

"The Badge"

He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.

He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.

Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.

He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.

His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.

He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.

And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.

But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.

Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.

Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.

So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.

In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.

Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

Mr Dowd , to a great friend which I think of often. What great times we had in college. When football season comes around every year I think of the great times we had together (go bridgewater). One thing that I have learned and tell myself everyday that make every day count. You were one of the best.

I think of you often. Every time I ride by the pond and think of our fishing "excursion" I have to smile... the lure is still wrapped around the telephone wire by the way... : )
You are greatly missed.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, Here am I send me!" Isaiah 6:8
To a great man who answered the call selflessly and went with Honor.
