I pray that the Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.
~ Abraham Lincoln

Walpole Police Department

My neighbor across the street was your sergeant, Sgt. Pat Newman. I was a kid in high school but I know how upset Sgt. Newman was upon your death. Sgt. Newman's son joined the police department and served 30 years. I also joined and served in your old motorcycle unit. Rest in peace with the Lord, brother motor officer.

We ask Thy blessings and eternal rest to all our brothers and sisters
Who have sacrificed their very lives in the performance of
their duties. Give their loved ones the peace and
Strength to bear the anguish of their loss. Remove all
resentment from their hearts, knowing that eternal
peace and rest will abide their departed loved ones
forever. This we beg, Thy name forever and ever,
Amen.

We ask why, but will never know why. We do know that you were a brave officer who was killed senselessly. Rest easy now. You will not be forgotten.
