Rest in Peace Motorman. You are not forgotten. Motor Officer D.Johnson Trooper Schwartz, Anonymous Trooper Schwartz, you were my great uncle, and though you died 31 years before I was born, I definitely think about you and wish I had been able to know you. My Aunt Bonnie found this old photo of you standing next to your motorcyle among our Great Aunt Anne's things. The date written in pencil on the back is a day before your tragic accident. While I didn't know much about you when I was younger, I find it interesting that I later followed in your footsteps with law enforcement and the Illinois State Police. Thanks to Captain Kevin Shaughnessy for his efforts to honor our fallen Troopers at District 5. He asked me about a couple of our Troopers who had little information and no photo to represent them. My interest was sparked, and I am very proud to have been able to replace the "silouette" that represented you even at our Armory in Springfield, with a real photograph. A salute to you from your department, and a distant great nephew. Sgt. Randy Ness Rest in peace motorman. Ofc. Michael Walker
