Well dad, you have been gone almost 47 years. I often wonder what our lives would be like if you were still with us. I miss you even though most of my memories are from mom. Thank the heavens for mom and her many memories. I do remember when you checked on us girls one night. I was not in my bed. I am a sleep walker you see. Dad could not find me. I guess i decided to take a little walk. Just as Dad was picking up the phone to call the troop for help, he found me in the downstairs coat closet. I LOVE YOU DAD!

I went to elementary school with his daughter Maria. I now work a block away from the Police Memorial in Washington DC. Today I walked past it and thought of Maria..and looked up her dad..and there was his name engraved on the wall...said a little prayer for my friend and her family. I have lost contact w/ Maria and would love to reconnect. - best wishes, Raquel

My dad, Trooper Bob Cardwell, and Harold Rupert were the best of friends. Rupert's death left a whole in our whole family. I was only six years old when Rupert (my dad never called him Harold, it was always "Rupert") died. He was a gregarious man, full of life. My dad would get tears in his eyes whenever he talked of Rupert even forty years later. When my dad died only a couple years ago he had Rupert on his mind to the very end. Gail I'd love to talk to you. Lee

We remember our fallen brother, not only on this 45th anniversary of his passing, but every day, as we carry on where he left off. Rest easy, TFC Rupert.

Dear Dad,
I miss you with all my heart. We all miss you; Mom, Colleen, Lorraine, Patricia, and Kathleen. I am sorry you did not get to see and hold your last born child, Kathleen. She dediced to arrive after your departure. But I have no doubt that you have held her in your arms, kissed her cheek, and said hello. She is very special to us.
Mom is the best. You would be so proud of her. She has raised all five of us, with pride and morales. She has kept your memory alive, always telling us stories about the things that you have done. She has never taken your picture down, and never will. She loves and misses you so much.
We are all grown up now and have families of our own. You would love them. I know I speak for my sisters and mom when I say, "I wish you were here".

I miss you Dad.
I love you.
We will meet again.

All My Love,(and hugs)
Your Daughter Maria
