Your heroism and service is honored today, the fifty-first anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

Officer O’Connor, today marks the 51st anniversary of your tragic death in the service of the State of California.

I was privileged and honored to have known Lt. Mike Lemasters of the California State Police. I haven’t been in contact with him for a number of years and by now, he’s probably enjoying retirement. I know the pride he took in the department. I also know that many outside of California didn’t know of the existence of the CSP and when I would mention it, would say, “Highway Patrol?” Well, no one asks that anymore due to the merger. Maybe it was for the best, maybe not, but it was a department to be proud of, I do know that.

Officer O’Connor, it’s miraculous that in it’s 108-year history, on three officers died in the line of duty. It’s truly sad that you were one of them. You and your service have not been forgotten.

God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother.
