When I was a kid, we visited family in Northlake. My Dad was a Patrolman for Rosemont Police Department and would tell me the story of his two of his friends that got killed at this bank. He would have tears in his eyes when telling me the story. I was about 12 at the time. He always had a hard time talking about the event. My Dad and I worked together at the Pasco County Sheriff's Office for 17 years before he died of cancer. I have since retired and teaching Criminal Justice in a near by High School. The memories of John Nagle, and Anthony Perri will always be in our prayers, and never forgotten.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 47th anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I worked in Northlake for about 1-1/2 years. There's a small quiet park in a residential neighborhood named after SGT Nagle and Officer Perri, who both died together, protecting their beloved community. Take a moment going through your own communities and see what parks are named after officers who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Morton Grove, Illinois, has a park named after fallen Officer Barry Shalin, a friend of mine.

Take time to reflect, for these officers are the finest of which the profession can boast. God Bless these fine men, and may God Bless all of us out on the front lines daily.

Let us not forget our families and friends, who give us the support we need to make our lives better, and in turn, make the communities we work for better places.

SGT Nagle...you will never be forgotten.
