Reflections for Officer Robert Paul Murray

Today I was in the Multnomah Courthouse. I mentioned your name to a young Portland Police Officer, as I told him that you were my uncle. The officer responded by saying he knew of you. Your name is on many of the patrol vehicles, in memorandum. Tears of pride and loss for you, Uncle Bobby.

My Uncle Bobby was someone I really looked up to. I was in the sixth grade when we got the tragic phone call that our Uncle was killed while on duty. I remember the wave of sadness and grief our family experienced. Uncle Bobby was my Grandma's only son. Grandmas was so proud of him! He served in the Navy in WWII in the South Pacific. He was a humble and tender hearted young man. He was only 36 when he died. Oh, so young! Bless you, Uncle Bobby! You have never been forgotten! Carol
