Reflections for Patrol Officer Maureen Kelly Murphy

I miss our banana bomb pops on hot summer days, your funny little drawings on the calendars you would give us counting the days until we got to come back to KC to stay with you and dad, your laugh and your love. My memories of you have helped shape me into the mother I am today. You were a wonderful woman and I know that your have all of us, Morgan, Adam and me, in your heavenly embraces every day.

I am now as old as you were when you left this beautiful world. I wish I could have grown up and had the chance to do all the mother and daughter things with you. Rest in paradise mom!

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 26th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer

Time never diminishes respect and your memory will always be honored and revered. You were a beautiful young woman with a radiant smile and I am sure that is how you greeted the world. I pray for the solace of all those who love and remember you for I know the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace today. Morgan, thanks for sharing a daughter's devotion.

Rest In Peace.

I can't believe it's been 25 years. On one hand it feels like it's been a life time since I've seen you, and on the other like it was yesterday.
Miss you

God bless your family and may he keep you by his side. Though our Almighty Lord is selfish, and only takes the best first, he needs the company of his Angels and saints. Watch over us Murphy and tell the Lord to only claim those as great as you. Bless you......

I went to college with Kelly and remember her well. She was the RA in my dorm for 2 years. She was lively, pretty and had that great smile. She was in Criminal Justice classes with one of my good friends and I think I spoke with her nearly everyday. I was so sad to learn of her death and still think of her quite often. Rest in Peace Kelly.

I learned some time ago to stop asking questions regarding why some things happen.

I think that even Morgan agrees that for some reason You led me to her site and to contact Her. I love leaving silly messages on Her site and now She has included the circumstances surrounding that fateful day on Her site.

She knows that She has a Big Brother out West and it is obvious that God has blessed Her with great friends.

May You Rest - In - Peace.

Officer Murphy,

I don't know you but I have been working alongside your amazing daughter, Morgan for almost a year now. She is a wonderful person and I'm certain she got her looks from you. I will never forget you as I have chosen a career in Law Enforcement as well. I will always remain best friends with your lovely daughter no matter what.

You are never forgotten.

Some one once said "a friend is some one who you could tell anything to and they wouldn't be there to judge they would only be there to hear you."

For me that's the best and only description of Kelly there will ever be. The amount of years she's been gone doesn't seem to matter...the anniversary of her death never gets easier. I know in my heart she is in a better place...but it sure would have been nice to have my friend here for a little while longer.
