Reflections for Chief of Police Andrew Paul Moore

Chief Moore was my grandfather on my Mother's side of the family. We have heard about him for many years. Never had a chance to meet him, but he was a good man and police officer. His name is on the memorial wall at the Police Memorial in Washington, DC.

I never got to know my grandfather, but felt close to him from stories told by my mother. He died serving as a police officer, performing his duty. I am proud to be his grandson.

In loving memory of a grandfather I never had the privilege to meet. Your memory will never die due to the stories from my mother to all her children and grandchildren. Rest in heaven as many of our family and loved ones are with you.

My Grandfather, who I never knew, but heard many good things about him. My mom was only 7 years old when he was killed, but she remembered him and loved him much. He left my Grandmother too soon. Rest in peace Grand-daddy, and know that you are remembered by us all as a man so many appreciate and honor.

Many thanks to all of you for sharing your kind words about the Grandfather that I never knew. He was killed four years before I was born. I have his service revolver, Chief's badge, purple heart from the State of North Carolina and the United States Flag that was presented to one of his sons (now deceased). You will never know how much I miss not knowing him. God bless you all. Paul Wayne Moore now 71 years of age.
