Chief, during my 17 years as Chief of Police for the Town of Taylorsville (Yes the same town you gave your life to protect) I looked up at your photo which hangs in the Chief's Office at the Taylorsville Police Department everyday. I found strength and inspiration from you presence, during difficult times. Thank you so much for your service and sacrifice. I have moved on from Taylorsville but I keep a copy of the story of your sacrifice with me still. You are not forgotten Chief

Chief Tony Jones
Blowing Rock Police Department

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.
GOD Bless

I am your grandchild...and although I never met you, you should know that you left a wonderful legacy for a wonderful wife (my grandmother), a daughter (my aunt), and a son--my most cherished father. I have been honored to remember you every year at our city's Crime Victims' Memorial Service. You, your good deeds, and your sacrifices, live on in our memories. Thank you.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 65th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service to my home state and the birthplace of my son. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

It's been 62 years since you left this earth, and so much has changed since then, but one thing has not, and that is the senseless killing of Peace Officers. Know that your life was remembered today- keep watch over your brothers and sisters who are still on the beat. Thank you for your service and sacrifice, and now rest in peace. God bless you, Sir.
