I said a little prayer today for Patrolman McPhillips and his family. He may be gone but never forgotten. He will always be a New York HERO.

I was googling the history of my uncle, Edward McPhillips, also a NYC officer, when I happened on this. Its tragic but it shows the dedication and selflessness of these guys, going back generations, who were truly heroes. I hope you are related to me and my uncle because that would mean we have heroes' blood in our veins.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 86th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace
