Reflections for Patrolman Francis Garrett McKeon

Such a sad story. Patrolman McKeon had just returned from serving his country in WWII. God only knows the horrors he witnessed during those four years.

Then on his first day back, he is murdered by someone as he was trying to help a beaten wife.

An unsung but certainly not forgotten hero. Your sacrifice will always be honored.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 66th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service to our nation and your community. Time never diminishes respect.

As others have commented, it is ironic that you made it home safe after four years combat duty in WWII only to be shot on your first tour of duty upon your return .

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Rest In Peace

Hello Ofcr. McKeon:

It is such a tragic irony that your heroic service saw you safely through WW2, only to lose your life on the first day of your return to wearing the badge. Even all these years later, you are not forgotten. You died a hero and we appreciate your brave wervice as one of New York's finest! God bless and keep a watch on us down here as you walk a beat in Heaven with St. MIchael's platoon. Rest easy brother, we have the watch from here.

It is a great irony and a great tradgedy that you survived WWII only to be shot down in your own country. Your dedication and your service to our country and to the city of New York are immesurable.
