my reflection is, Harve McGuire was my late Aunts' Hester McGuires' husband. I have some of Harve's artifacts. Newspapers on the shooting and trial. His service revolver,. Hat, flashlight. My late Mother gave these to me in the mid 90's.

William Harvey McGuire was the brother of my grandmother Mary McGuire Smith...and she often spoke of her brother and how he lost his life that day while on duty for the Williamson Police Department. Uncle Harve...you will always be remembered for your bravery and service to the city of Williamson, West Virginia. May you rest in peace x

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 86th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

My Great-Great Uncle Harvey was married to Hester Reynolds McGuire, my Great-Great Aunt whom I did know during my childhood. I was told about his death and how he died.
To me, he is a Courageous Hero who was murdered by gutless cowards once officers of his own police force in Williamson, WVA.
I wish I could have met him. I was not yet born when this took place but have a Strong Faith in Christ and God that I will meet him in Heaven one day. I love you and Aunt Hester, Uncle Harvey, Belinda Ann Rohrer your niece

Belinda Morgan Rohrer, Great-Great Niece to Williamson, WVA. Police Patrolman, Harvey McGuire murdered in 1927. I wish I could have known him.

80 years ago today you paid the ultimate price. Thank you for your bravery, dedication and sacrifice. May your family take comfort in the fact that you will FOREVER be a hero and NEVER be forgotten. I guess God needed another LEO in heaven, so until one day we meet, keep walking your beat on the Golden Street looking over the rest of the thin blue line. May God Bless your family, friends and colleagues.
