Reflections for Special Agent Matthew E. McGrath
Your heroism and service is honored today, the 107th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Special Agent McGrath, it’s odd how the theft of brass and copper is now just as serious as it was in your day. This petty thievery cost you your life while protecting one of America’s most vital assets its Railroads. On this 105th anniversary of your brutal murder at the hands of petty thugs, I thank you for your efforts and salute your dedication to duty. The life of a Railroad cop is not an easy one, but it is an honorable one. You are a hero.
God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother.
