Your heroism and service is honored today, the 47th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Trooper Maynard, I remember as a small boy you and your partner coming by my house for dinner. I will always remember how big and tough you both looked in your uniform. I knew then that that is what I wanted to do. So twenty years later I did. You probably didn't realize the influence you had on small boy, but you did. I hope I've served you proud.
