Newport was apparently not a Sanctuary City. A criminally insane illegal immigrant murdered you, just think, had he tried to enter legally, he may not have gotten to Newport in the first place and you might have lived to retirement.

Officer Manogue, you did your best to enforce the law of the land and to do what was right. How tragic that it cost you your life. You are a hero.

God Bless and may your eternal rest be peaceful, Brother.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 95th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be remembered and revered.

Rest In Peace

Traffic Officer Manogue, you gave your life in the service of others forsaking all you may (and did) leave behind. You are a special person and a hero in the truest sense.

God Bless and may you forever Rest in Peace, Brother.

On the 92nd anniversary of Officer Manogue's death, we honored his service in our patrol briefing by reading his entry from ODMP. Each day, we honor one fallen officer on the anniversary of their death so as to keep them in our thoughts, and also to remind us of the dangers inherent in our job. Officer Manogue is not forgotten.
