There was a radio drama program named "Calling All Cars" in 1938 did the story of this heroic officer and the actual events as told by the Long beach Chief and other officers who were on this case as the show was a predecessor to Dragnet.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
