I was a Campus Police Officer at Shasta College and rode on patrol with Ted a number of times as a Police Science student for extra credit. I left for the military and Vietnam three months before Ted was killed. I learned of his death from another RPD officer with a news article mailed to me. Ted was one of the nicest people I have ever met, and one of the most professional. He and other officers like him from the Redding Police inspired me to make a career of law enforcement. I'm retired now, and will be 70 years old on Oct 3rd. I finished with 32 years of service. God bless Ted, and those like him.

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.
God Bless

I don't think I knew Owen Lyon but for me being in the fire / Rescue services the Police & Fire Departments go hand and hand. I am very saddened for what happened to Owen but the shooters will have to face God someday and I shouldn't want to be in his shoes on that day! I am praying for the family and friends as this incident effected a lot of lives. I'm sure a lot of people are going through this hard time of mourning Over Owen.

My condolences to the family, Friends, & co-workers.

Rob Hood.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 42nd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
