Uncle Maurice,
Yesterday we honored you at a special memorial to remember all Michigan Conservation officers killed in the line of duty and celebrate 125 years of service of your fellow officers.
My heart was breaking for Grandma and Grandpa and Lois; Jon and I have 2 sons and 2 grandsons, and I cannot imagine what they were feeling back then.
We did not know you, but feel your loss in our family.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 74th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
