Your heroism and service is honored today, the 52nd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service to my home state and the birthplace of my son. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

December 18, 1959 was the day I was born. I can only hope that as Patrolman Long left this earth that he touched my soul with his passion as a police officer.

It's been over 48 years since you gave it your all. I can see by a past refection that you are dearly thought of today. Not one of us in law enforcement can ever really know how our lives effect others. It's after we are gone that the void seems endless.

To the family and friends of North Carolina Highway Patrolman H.T. Long I will carry on his tradition, his legacy in my heart. We will share date forever. His passing and my birth.

HEROS LIVE FOREVER
Please be the guardian angel that all officers need to keep them safe. There are so many that get injuried and killed in the same incidents you did, and so many accidents could be avoided if everyone would move over slow down and watch out for our officers. They give their lives serving and protecting us. I know from talking with my grandma that you were a wonderful man and you served the NCSHP well.
