Officer Lonergan, it has been 97 years since you were taken from us. New England law enforcement has continued to thrive, learn and become safer due to the traditions and sacrifices that you and too many others have made for us. Thank you for your service.

Officer Lonergan, today is the 89th anniversary of your passing and that of Officer Staples. It is shame this anniversary has to be observed in that, it's a shame there is one.

May God continue to bless you both.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 86th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

Though your badge number has been reissued, no doubt, several times in the 80 years since your murder, you have never been replaced and your memory lives on.

God Bless you and Officer Staples and may you both be resting in peace.
