Today my oldest daughter asked if we had any family stories she could write about for a school assignment. I told her about how you sacrificed your life to save a family. There is nothing more courageous, heroic, and honorable. We are so proud to be your family. We love you.

Today, I visited you with your great grand daughters. I also got to meet some of the family you saved and got to see your house. I am so proud of you. You are laid to rest next to your wife in a beautiful place. The people that I met today said that I look like you, it made me proud. I love you.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 56th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace
