Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.
God Bless

Carl and I started recruit school Feb. 19, 1968 - soon to be 45 years ago. He was from Kingsford, MI (a place I had never heard of) and I was from Flint. We became good friends with a common goal: to graduate from the training program and get our first assignments as Michigan State Police Troopers. We were both successful; he went to Detroit and I to Paw Paw (another place I'd never heard of). We had only served for 15 months when Carl made the supreme sacrifice. I was working the night it happened and Carl's death certainly brought home the message to me that we had chosen a profession where such things can happen. I still remember Carl fondly after all these years. Rest in peace my friend, until we meet again.

It has been 39 years since your death. By now you would have been long retired, and enjoying your children and, most likely, grandchildren. Your heroic efforts that long, long, ago day have never been forgotten. Rest peacefully Carl. Thank you for your service.
