I lived in Long Beach during the Watts riots. It was a very scary time for a child. I remember seeing many officers with helmets and shotguns. I made a vow I would be like them someday. Rest in peace, Sir.

The local papers have been showing photographs of people celebrating the 40th aniversary of the so called "Watts Revolt", but we know the truth it was a Riot. As they celebrate we remember the lives that were taken of two fine law enforcement officers, yourself and Los Angeles County Deputy Ludlow.

It's been a long time, nearly 40 years, but I have always remembered you. We worked together walking the LB Pike, a night or so before the Watts Riots when you left us. That is how I have always remembered you, your comradery, and your friendship. You have never been forgotten.
