Reflections for Patrolman Arthur Joe Lavender, Jr.

I love you daddy. At Christmas every single year there is a quiet place in my heart that will always be yours. It’s been over 50 years dad. I know that you smile down on us. Continue to watch over us.

Sandy allowed us the privilege of replicating your badge for the family. It was a great honor for us. I learned a lot about the great man you were through speaking with Sandy. Godspeed to you my brother and blue!

Patrolman Lavender,
I Learned of your supreme sacrifice when I had the honor to meet your granddaughter recently. Please rest assured your brothers are protecting your family, as you patrol the streets of Heaven. As a fellow Motorman, I will sit up a little straighter knowing you are watching from above.

God Bless you and all of your family.

Joe, I still miss you pardner, your advise, your support and your good nature and smile. Also miss those duets we used to sing in the car to stay awake on a slow grave-yard shift.
