Your heroism and service is honored today, the 70th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. How wonderful that your grandson was albe to attend the Memorial Services in Sacramento. I know that both the pain and pride are forever.

I was 15 years old when he was killed. I am now 83, the last of the four grandchildren he left behind. I have many fond memories of my Grandfather and his service to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Dept. In May, 2009, I was invited to the State Law Enforcement Memorial in Sacramento where I was honored to see Deputy Larimer's name added to the Memorial there. Thanks to all the Law Enforcement officers who put this event together each year. You are awesome.

Had Deputy Larimer been in the military, he would have been awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for his
heroic sacrifice. He went "above and beyond". As the oldest survivor of his many offspring, I am the representative of the family he produced, and I am honored to add my words to this memorial page.
My Grandfather is one of the too many who have fallen in the line of duty. May their souls be in peace.

I recently had the pleasure of meeting your grandson David who upon learning that I was a police officer recounted the story of your service and the events of Dec. 24, 1941. He told me of your funeral which he attended at age 15 and the procession of police officers which stretched as far as he could see remains one of the most impressive things he has ever witnessed. Deputy Sheriff Larimer, you have not been forgotten. May you Rest in Peace.
