I did the original research on Knoebel and
have a correction. His wife actually died in
1915. The funeral home at that time was
just one floor above the basement where
Frank was killed. His only child, Jimmy,
became an orphan. He lived with an uncle
in Shelbyville, IN.

Rest in Peace, Patrolman Knoebel. Your sacrifice is not forgotten.

Officer 11169

Your heroism and service is honored today, the eighty-first anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

You will always be honored and revered as time never diminishes, I do not understand why the govenor felt you were worthy of clemency after serving nineteen years. I hope it was some noble reason like you saved guard's lives in prison or something, and not for political reasons.

Rest In Peace

I have only learned of you recently and of our connection. I pray I may be of such service and show such bravery as you. May we meet in Heaven to share our stories.
