Patrolman Johnson, it has been 55 years since you were taken from us. New England law enforcement has continued to thrive, learn and become safer due to the traditions and sacrifices you, your family, and many others have made for us. Thank you for your 27 years of law enforcement service.

Tonight I found myself on Tremont Street, waiting to cross the street. I looked up and happened to notice the sign with Officer Johnson's name and the date of March 17, 1969 on it. I was curious to see what I could learn about him, and I found this page. Sounds like a true hero. How fortunate we are to have men and women who are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to keep the rest of us safe.

It's now 49 years. You are still honored here and you are still missed and loved by those who loved you best. The pain can never go away, but holding you in their hearts keeps you near. LOVE, never dies.

Thinking of you these past few weeks and especially on St. Patrick's day. Its been a hard couple of weeks, a Trooper, a father of six, (just like you) was killed, and a young officer from Falmouth was also killed in the line of duty. Many heroes among us Dad.
