Reflections for Detective Sergeant Joseph P. Husken
Your heroism and service is honored today, the 69th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Sgt. Joseph P. Husken was 40 when the shooting took place. At that time he lived at 798 Superior St. with his wife, Martha, 38 years old, and children Esther, 19; Roy, 15; and Elvera, 12. By 1930 the family had moved to a home they now owned at 131 Algonquin, with the youngest two children still living at home (A check of the SSDI shows son Roy died in 1970, aged 66.)
They are not forgotten.
