To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 80th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I have never seen this web page before and it was very touching to me. I want to thank those of you who have posted in honor of my grandfather. My father was only 8 years old when his Dad was killed. Even though he was young when it happened he still remembered a lot of details and always told me the stories of his Father and how proud he was of him. He gave the police museum the scapbook my Grandma had made and he always took great pride in showing it to us kids. RIP Grandpa...I wish I could have known you!

Patrolman Holt,
On today, the 75th anniversary of your murder, I would like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Springfield. And as for your murderers who were pardoned-I agree wholeheartedly with the previous reflections left for you which stated the same feelings I have-you and your family deserved better.

I'm not sure I understand how an individual can be pardoned for murdering a cop!!!
What a wonderful world.
Officer Holt: the politicians and law makers obviously have done you a disservice for your time spent helping citizens, (most who don't appreciate it), and for your ultimate sacrifice. I guess it wasn't good enough for them. You deserve better; I admire your efforts and pray for you and all of us who deal with the filthy animals everyday. I appreciate you and all my brothers/sisters who know that this job is the most important job out there, because without law and order there is chaos - thats when EVERYTHING goes in the crapper!
Be safe brothers.
