Reflections for Detective Sergeant Carl W. Heckman

Your heroism and service is honored today, the eighty-first anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect, not even 81 years.

Rest In Peace

I am Carls grand daughter. My father was 18 months old when you were killed. It must have been hard growing up without you. It left a hole in the net of our family. We are all proud of you for your service to others.
I will love and miss you everyday.

Carl W. Heckman was my grandfather. My dad was 6 yrs old when his father was killed in the line of duty. My dad had memories of the day it happened and the trial that took place. Being the oldest he was placed in the role of helping support the family at an early age. My father past away in 1993. If my grandfather was anything like my dad, he must have been a wonderful man.
