Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Charlie Marion Hawkins

Wow. I am so sorry to learn my great great grandfather died in such a tragic way. If I could say anything to you now it would be that your legacy continues to move on. I am finishing out my criminal justice degree and we have two state troopers in the family. One who just retired last year in VA. Thank you for your services.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 93rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you coontinue to inspire. Thank you for your service to my home state and the birthplace of my son. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Rest In Peace.

It is not how he lived his life that made him a hero, it is how he died. Deputy Hawkins will never be forgotten.

He is one of our fallen heroes.
