Onus Young Hall was my grandfather who was killed in the line of duty before I was born. I deeply regret that I was denied the honor of knowing him. My father, L.Y.Hall kept his memory very much alive for me and my brother. Therefore we feel a great loss

This was my great grand- father. I never knew him but I know my grand mother always spoke of what a wonderful person he was. I have a nephew now who is a policeman . I pray for his safety daily. These men put their lives at risk every day.

You are remembered today by another Durham native and the mother of a fallen officer. My son, Larry Lasater who was also born in Durham, died when shot on April 23, 2005 during. a foot pursuit of two bank robbers. Your sacrifice is not forgotten. Rest in Peace, Deputy Hall. Your memory is honored and revered 70 years after your death and will continue to be.

mother of fallen officer Larry Lasater
