I still remember the early morning the phone call came. We were all in shock. I remember every moment of his wake. As he has always been my hero, I dedicated our November 2014 commission meeting to him and his family. Peace be with you and your family Uncle Joe.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 50th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

He was my Grandfather, I was in 3rd grade when it happened my Mom his daughter was never the same.

He not only was ready to retire it was his wedding anniversary to my grandmother. Even though I was young I still remember the impact it had on everyone.
