Reflections for Patrolman Charles Gearhiser
Your heroism and service is honored today, the 73rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

My father, Charlie, was a graduate of Austin Peay where he played outstanding baseball. He was Bachelor of Ugliness. His family was from Benton County and that of my mother, Josephine Plant, was from the Plant Community in Humpreys County where both are buried in the Warren Cemetary. My father was killed when I was only 3 months old but my mother was fortunate and married Dad's best friend from Austin Peay, Louis Wickham, after WWII.
